All four treatments I am trained in are recognized by the NCSTN for their effectiveness in treating trauma in children and adolescents. The NCTSN was created by congress in 2000 in order to increase families' access to services and raise the standard of care for children in our country.
In my time training to be a competent psychologist, I have learned that family and culture are at the heart of what predicts positive outcomes for the children I work with. All of the treatments I am trained in are attachment-based and culturally informed. This means that caregivers are involved in all of the treatments I use and I use a families' cultural background and values to inform how I proceed with treatment.
